He placed 39th at the 2020 Class World Championships in Sorrento, VIC, Australia, where his low body weight meant he struggled in the strong winds. After returning to Spain, his coach Marcos Fernandez advised him to try and gain weight while he was in lockdown because of the COVID-19 pandemic. "I am 1.71cm tall and I weighed very little. I had to gain six or seven kilos to be able to defend myself in strong winds, and that was the hardest of all.
