She hopes to motivate the next generation of Turkish windsurfers to get involved in the sport. "The oldest athletes competing in this discipline in other countries are in their forties, but I am the oldest in the women's [RS:X] class in the national team [speaking in 2017]. When I started this sport, there was no one in front of me to take as an example and to improve myself, while athletes of my age abroad have the opportunity to train with more experienced peers and develop constantly.
