RETIREMENT THOUGHTS
He says the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo may be his last Games after World Sailing voted to replace the Finn class with a mixed two-person keelboat offshore event for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. "Unfortunately, with the decision, it looks like it. I don't really see any other class that I could establish myself in." (ystadsallehanda.se, 16 Jul 2019; bbc.com, 10 May 2019; sail-world.com, 03 Nov 2018)

GOING IT ALONE
He won gold in the Star class at the 2012 Olympic Games in London with crewmate Fredrik Loof, but switched to compete on his own in the Finn class ahead of the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. "There are two sides to the coin. It is nice to make decisions for yourself, but you also need to learn from the times it does not go the right way. In many ways, it is easier not to have to confront one another, but on the other hand you tend to arrive at better decisions when you have someone to ask and share views with." (dn.se, 18 Jul 2015)
