OLYMPIC SELECTION TIEBREAK
Their selection for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo came as the result of a tiebreak with US 49erFX crew Anna Tobias and Paris Henken. The team with the lowest overall placement score from the 2019 and 2020 world championships would gain selection by US Sailing for Tokyo, but both teams had 16 points after Shea and Roble finished 13th [2019] and third [2020] while Tobias and Henken finished ninth [2019] and seventh [2020]. As a result, the tiebreaker was decided by the best result from the world championships in 2020, which was Shea and Roble's third-place finish. The pair began sailing together in 2016. AMBASSADOR
She has been an ambassador for 11th Hour Racing, an organisation focused on reducing pollution in the oceans and restoring them to health. "The saddest thing for me is that not a day goes by when we don't see trash in the water. Sure, some places have less visible debris in the water than other place, but there is still all the waste and microplastics in the water that we can't see. I know that what we do on land has a direct impact on what goes in the water. It is amazing when you walk through a boat park how much trash and plastic water bottles end up not in the receptacles.
