"I don't know when I first walked, but I know that I went sailing alone for the first time when I was two years old. My mother had a sailing school and, since she was a single parent, I was always with her, even when she had courses. At some point I said, 'I want to go sailing too'. But she thought that I was still too young for that. So then I annoyed them all day long, throwing things out of the motorboat and deflating inflatable boats. She eventually put me in an Optimist boat." (oeamtc.at, 15 Apr 2017)

SWITCHING CLASSES
After winning bronze in the Nacra 17 class at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with Thomas Zajac, she switched to the 49er FX class and began competing with Lorena Abicht. "The biggest difference between sailing with a man or a woman is that male sailors don't get angry so quickly. I know it sounds strange but with a man, you can be more direct with each other. Like, 'You did this or this badly', and he will not be angry with you. For me it is quite nice to be direct on the boat. On the other hand, it is easier to talk with a girl about everything else. If you have any problems, it is nice to have a girl to talk with." (burgenland.orf.at, 12 Nov 2019; medemblikregatta.org, 15 Mar 2017)

CHILD PRODIGY
She completed high school at age 14 and went on to study at the University of Vienna in Austria, graduating with honours in nutritional science three years later. "The behaviour of a primadonna doesn't fit me, so to claim to be super clever would never enter my mind." (kurier.at, 24 Jul 2015; sportmagazin.at, 18 Jun 2015; news.at, 20 Apr 2014)
