Then there was that friend who was doing Optimist and he was always telling us how fun it was, so, along with my two brothers we were curious to find out more about it. That is when we switched to sailing and from then on it became a passion, rather than a sport." (nation.sc, 06 Feb 2020)

General Interest

General
FUNDING
He has received an Olympic Solidarity scholarship to support his preparations for the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games. He was also given additional funding by the Seychelles Yachting Association and the National Sports Council to assist with his training. "This enabled me to spend about three months in Europe in early 2015 where I was based with a company called Sailcoach. I had the opportunity to train against other high level athletes from other countries and took part in a number of high level regattas where I was able to identify my strong and weak points. I'm looking to improve on my result from Rio de Janeiro in Tokyo. The plan will include training both locally and at training camps overseas with Viana Sailing in Portugal." (seychellesnewsagency.com, 16 Oct 2019; ptidetay.com, 04 Jan 2016)

OCCUPATION
He works as chief fisheries technician for the Seychelles Fishing Authority [SFA]. (nation.sc, 06 Feb 2020; LinkedIn profile, 01 Jan 2020)
