He lived near a canal where traditional longboat races were held. "During high school, I started boat racing in my village. At first, I was just paddling and having fun, not expecting to be an athlete at all. But once a year, our provincial sports association gave a budget to organise the annual competition. They probably saw me as a good crew. So then I was asked if I would be interested in trying out rowing and that I could get a chance to join the national team." (stadiumth.com, 02 Jul 2021)

BREAK AND RETURN
In 2018 he and lightweight double sculls partner Nawamin Deenoi both decided to take a break from the sport to pursue a career in the Royal Thai Navy. After graduating as cadet sergeants in 2020, the pair returned to training originally aiming to compete at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam. They changed their focus to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo after the 2020 Olympic Games were postponed by a year, and qualified at the 2021 Asia and Oceania Olympic Qualification Regatta in Tokyo, Japan. "We decided to be both athletes and cadets because we want our families to be comfortable, to have stability and welfare. I never thought that I would be able to go to the Olympic Games. I've only watched the Olympics on TV, and only when other sports were taking place. I've never seen rowing at the Olympics." (stadiumth.com, 02 Jul 2021, 30 Jun 2021)
