Her father Ronald Florijn won a gold medal for the Netherlands in the double sculls at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, and in the eight at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Her mother Antje Rehaag represented Germany at the 1996 Olympic Games in the women's eight. Her younger brother Finn is also a rower competing for the Netherlands at international level, and he won a bronze medal in the men's eight at the U23 world championships in 2019.
