"I started rowing at school in 2006 then rowed in the first eight and was captain of boats but I lost some interest when I came to uni and wasn't sure if I wanted to keep rowing. But I joined the Australian National University Boat Club and enjoyed it and made my way into the ACT Academy of Sport. The first Australian team I made was in 2016 in the U23s and in 2017 I was a senior reserve then I made my first senior team in 2018 in the quad." (canberratimes.com.au, 02 Mar 2019)

"I love rowing firstly because I love racing. I'm a naturally competitive person and the thrill of testing myself against the best is what I live for. Rowing is an extremely difficult sport, so the challenge just keeps me coming back for more. I love the team aspect of the sport, I have formed some of my closest friendships through rowing and I'm proud to be part of the Australian rowing team." (anu-sport.com.au, 30 Mar 2019)
