As a youngster he received an autograph from his childhood hero, Norwegian rower Olaf Tufte. He has since competed alongside Tufte, including at the 2019 World Championships in Linz, Austria. "It cannot be described in any other way. Olaf Tufte is a legend within rowing. He manages to deliver when it comes down to it and such a teammate is something everyone dreams of having in the boat.
