SCULLER AT HEART
She started her international career sculling and won a gold medal in the double sculls at the 2011 U23 World Championships in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In 2012 she switched to sweeping as she believed she had a better chance of competing at the Olympic Games, and went on to compete at the 2012 Games in London in the women's eight. After the German women's eight failed to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, she returned to sculling in 2017. "The sweeping years were nice, an enrichment that helped me in my development. But I grew up as a sculler and that's why I'm more attached to this discipline. My rowing heart beats for sculling." (pnn.de, 20 Sep 2017, osp-brandenburg.de, 08 May 2012, pnn.de, 26 Jul 2012)

RESIDENCE
She has an apartment in Cottbus but spends most of her time at the national training centre in Berlin. "I often just come back [to Cottbus] to do the laundry and then I am on the go again. You could even say that I pay rent for nine months without using the apartment." (lr-online.de, 24 Aug 2019; maz-online.de, 16 Apr 2019)
