"My family had moved to the north of France when I was in sixth class and I didn't have any sporting activities planned. My school proposed some activities, but I didn't really know what to do. They took us every week to the rowing club Leo Lagrange Armentieres, where I am still a member, and we tried the sport. Two or three of us really enjoyed it, and in my second year we took part in a youth national championship where we made the podium, and that was what really pushed me to continue."
