In 2007 she passed the first stage of a rowing talent search thanks to her running ability and physical fitness. After that, because she knew how to swim, she was invited to rowing training courses and eventually decided to continue with the sport. (photokade.com, 2018)

"I did not like rowing from the beginning, but the energy water transmits made me stick with it. After [Iranian rower] Homa Hosseini qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and was the flag bearer of Iran [during the opening ceremony of the 2008 Games], I was inspired to be like her." GOLDEN AMBITION
Speaking in 2020 she said that her ultimate goal in rowing is to win gold at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. "Many think this is impossible, but I think it is possible. Maybe no one [representing the Islamic Republic of Iran] has achieved it in all these years and that is why they see an Olympic medal in rowing as out of reach, but I know that all the rowers who have stood on the Olympic podium have reached their goal after 20 years of rowing, and this is not a goal you can achieve with five or 10 years of training. In rowing you need endurance and experience. A new rower reaches the endurance cycle after age 25 or 30, and their physical capacity increases and the athlete gains the necessary experience. Therefore, no one can win an Olympic medal with five, 10 or even 15 years of rowing. I have been rowing non-stop for 14 years now and I will be rowing for another 10 years to reach the Olympic podium." (khabarvarzeshi.com, 31 Dec 2020)
