His wife Isabella Isaksen has represented the United States of America in modern pentathlon. She won gold in the team event at the 2016 Pan American Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He competed alongside her in the mixed relay at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, where they won a gold medal. His brother Emad also competed in modern pentathlon at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, while his other brother Omar competed in the sport at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. His sister-in-law Margaux Isaksen competed in modern pentathlon at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.
