INSPIRATION
Her father passed away in April 2010 due to oesophageal cancer, the same year she followed in his footsteps and became a police officer. She decided to aim for the Olympic Games in order to cheer up her mother who had been in sorrow following his death. She brought her father's fountain pen, that was given in celebration of his 30 years of service by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, as her lucky charm to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
