His older brother Quentin was also a modern pentathlete. He finished 15th in the 2009 French Open International Championships in Paris. He practised judo, table tennis, sport climbing and running before discovering modern pentathlon, which quickly grabbed his attention. "At the time, my parents asked me to choose just one activity because it was difficult to take me to all of them. But I couldn't choose. I'm hyperactive and I needed to try many things, so I went to modern pentathlon. I immediately loved doing all the disciplines. Doing only one was a little bit boring for me. He trains up to 35 hours a week at the National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance [INSEP] in Paris, France. During mornings he does swimming and then either fencing or shooting. In the afternoons the session consists of running and shooting. He practises horse riding twice a week. He complements his training sessions with dance. "We economise energy in all our movements and gestures. Everybody trains hard and thus improves, but we can go further and maintain that longer by eliminating all our parasite gestures."
