She switched from swimming to modern pentathlon as she liked the variety of the sport. "I swam for eight years, I even dreamed of being an Olympic champion. I grew up with swimming, no other sport interested me. So it turned out that I didn't discover pentathlon, but it discovered me. I talked for two years that I was going to pentathlon, but I kept shaking my hand until I realised that something had to be done because swimming results did not improve.
