His twin brother Sayed Salman Almosawi has represented Kuwait at karate and competed in men's team kata at the 2018 World Championships in Madrid, Spain. He also won bronze in the men's team kata at the 2019 Asian championships and bronze medals in the individual kata and men's team kata at the 2018 Asian championships. His father Sayed Abdullah is also a World Karate Federation judge and an Asian Karate Federation referee.
