She took up the sport at age four in Aisne, France. (lessportives.fr, 12 Apr 2021)
:
"My mother wanted my brother and I to do a combat sport, and it was judo. When I was a teenager, I wanted to give up the sport. At that age, you only see the fun side. I wanted to stop because I was the only girl in my group and all my friends were quitting. I didn't see a goal to achieve in judo. I wanted to enjoy my young years like the rest of my friends, as when they celebrated their birthdays I was always training or in competition. But my parents always encouraged me to continue judo and I can only thank them for doing so. When the results arrived, I had a taste for winning and I finally found meaning to all that sacrifice and effort." (sportmag.fr, 10 Apr 2021; sncf.com, 02 Dec 2020)

General
EARLY DAYS
Her family is from the French overseas territory of Guadeloupe. As a teenager, after she integrated into a national youth training hub [Pole Espoirs] in Reims, France, one of her coaches urged her to stop "working" her opponents with her right hand. As a result, she switched and began leading with her left hand. (sncf.com, 02 Dec 2020; francetvinfo.fr, 20 Nov 2020)

OCCUPATION
Since 2019 she has worked as a safety agent for France's national railway provider SNCF. She works at the Paris-Nord station. "After finishing school, I started a bachelor of science and technology in physical and sport studies which I ended up leaving during the first year. This decision worried my mother a lot, she was not too keen on me stopping my studies. In 2019 I integrated into the SNCF elite athletes programme, thus committing to a long-term future project. That took a load off me, now I can train without worrying about what will happen in the future. It gives me a solid background and I really like my role, where I help customers during major congestions or in the event of problems in the station. I am less introverted than in the past."
