FEDERATION SWITCH
In 2019 he joined the Belgian Francophone Judo Federation, which operates in the French-speaking Wallonia region of Belgium, after leaving the Dutch-speaking federation in Flanders. "I felt that I was no longer making progress in Flanders and I was no longer comfortable in my own skin. I closed myself off completely, that's how I am. It was a very difficult decision, because I left everything behind for a leap into the unknown. That was the best decision I could have made at the time. I have grown a lot as a judoka in the last two years and even more as a person. I felt very well supported from the start, the whole framework and the system are just as I had hoped. I cannot thank the federation, coaches Frederic Georgery and Cedric Taymans, and all the other trainers and staff enough. Without them, I wouldn't be where I am now.
