Her cousin Charles Chibana is also a judoka. He represented Brazil at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and the 2020 Grand Prix event in Oberwart, Austria. Her other cousin Mike Chibana also competed in judo at junior international level and represented Brazil at the 2011 World Junior Championships in Cape Town, South Africa.
