General
FROM SLOVENIA TO TURKEY
He switched from representing Slovenia to competing for Turkey in 2018. With the move, he also changed his name from Mihael Zgank to Mihael Ozerler. "The process was difficult for me in Slovenia. I wanted to be an Olympic champion, but there were not enough opportunities. I didn't have a partner in my own category despite searching. Even though I prepared very well for the 2017 European Championships [in Warsaw, Poland], I couldn't get a place. I couldn't get along with the coaches. In the same year at the World Championship [in Budapest, Hungary] I came in second place. Then the offer came from Turkey. I made the right decision and chose Turkey in 2018."
