FIFTH TIME'S THE CHARM
She is competing at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo having attempted to qualify for the last four Games. "It took 20 years to make it happen. I guess it just means I've never really given up. I've been in the running for the four Olympics before Tokyo, and never managed to quite pull it off. So, I guess the fifth time's a charm and I'm happy to go and do what I can do. I was realising that I was still performing better than a lot of people who were significantly younger than me, and I wanted to do it because I could. Also, a lot of times in the US, heavyweights get a bad reputation because we don't look like these ripped, eight-pack athletes in other divisions. FURTHER EDUCATION
After studying French and politics at Union College in Schenectady, NY, United States of America, she moved to France and earned a master's degree in teaching English as a second language at Rennes 2 University, after teaching English at the University of Rennes 1.
