General Interest

General
ADAPTING TO CHANGES
He says adaptability is one of his strengths and he studies rules changes within the sport to gain an upper hand on their introduction. "I try to use every rule change to my advantage and as soon as I notice that certain techniques no longer work, I can adapt to new techniques relatively quickly." (tokio.judobund.de, 21 Jun 2021)

OCCUPATION AND BREAK
He joined the Hessen State Police in Germany in September 2016. In July 2019 he began a year away from the police to concentrate on preparing for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "After the Olympics, I will concentrate on my police studies for the first time, because I missed a lot through competitions and training camps. For me, judo is more than just a sport. It's a way of life. Judo teaches values such as humility, respect for one's counterpart and politeness. This is why it is so compatible with being a police officer. Ultimately, I like the sport of judo and the police profession so much because it creates a lot of new contacts and because you never stop learning."
