General
ADVANTAGE OF EXPERIENCE
She says she puts less pressure on herself due to her age, but that her experience will give her an advantage at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "Everything that comes now is a bonus. I try to enjoy it without telling myself that I have to do this or that. Sometimes I wonder why I'm still up there fighting, but my advantage is my experience. I see a lot of youngsters with talent in training and competition, but they make mistakes that experienced athletes don't." (abendblatt.de, 21 Jun 2019)

MEDAL DEDICATION
She dedicated her bronze medal in the -63kg category at the 2020 European Championships in Prague, Czech Republic, to her grandfather, who had passed away with COVID-19 shortly before the event. "My grandfather died two weeks before the European Championships due to COVID, and his funeral was held the day before I fought, so it was quite emotional and I wanted to dedicate the medal to him." (eju.net, 09 Dec 2020)

FROM POLAND TO GERMANY
She was born in Poland and moved with her family to Germany as a young child. "My grandmother and great grandparents were already in Hamburg [Germany] and we went to visit them when I was three months old. I was very young and became ill during our visit. At the same time I was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and from that moment on we stayed in Germany." (Judo YouTube channel, 25 Mar 2020; eju.net, 14 Mar 2016)

FURTHER EDUCATION
In 2018 she began studying for a master's degree in rehabilitation, prevention and health management at the German Sport University Cologne. "I think mental health is the most important thing in competitive sports. It's impossible to perform without having a healthy mental state." (Instagram profile, 20 Dec 2020; ijf.org, 11 May 2020; Judo YouTube channel, 25 Mar 2020)
