RETIREMENT THOUGHTS
She said she considered retiring from international judo after losing in her opening match at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. "I felt a great loss and a lot of disappointment, so the rumours about me thinking of retiring from the national team were true. I prepared really hard for the 2016 Olympic Games, but at the event I was really nervous, I couldn't use the style or technique I wanted at all in the match. Afterwards I cried for a long time and I really didn't want to do judo anymore. Taking the mistakes of that day as a lesson, I want to do the best I can to perform well at the Tokyo Olympic Games." (My Lime Naver blog, 22 Feb 2021)
