She played in 252 games for Australia, scoring 141 goals. She served as Hockeyroos captain for four years, and won gold medals at the Olympic Games in 1996 and 2000, a World Cup gold medal in 1998, three Champions Trophy wins in 1997, 1999 and 2003, and gold at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She works as the coach of the New South Wales Institute of Sport [NSWIS] women's hockey programme in Australia. She has also served as a member of the International Hockey Federation [FIH] Rules Committee since 2013.

Since 2005 she has served in a variety of coaching roles with Hockey Australia, including national women's assistant coach from 2005 to 2012, and a member of the national women's coaching staff at the 2010 and 2018 Commonwealth Games, as well as the 2010 World Cup. She was a member of the national women's coaching support staff at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games, and assistant coach to the national women's side at the 2019 Oceania Cup. She was also head coach of the Australian team at the 2009 Junior World Cup. At club level she served as the New South Wales Arrows head coach in the Australian Hockey League [AHL] from 2015 to 2018, and was New South Wales Pride head coach in Australia's Hockey One League [which replaced the AHL] in 2019.
