BREAK FROM HOCKEY
After winning a gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, she took a break from hockey from 2015 to 2018. She returned in 2018 to play for the New South Wales Arrows in the Australian Hockey League, after which she was picked up by the NSW Institute of Sport. In 2019 she was recalled to the Australian national team to play in Pro League fixtures in Argentina and the United State of America. (olympics.com.au, 01 Mar 2021)

SURPRISE CALL-UP
In August 2019 she said she was surprised to have been called to play at a test event for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, in which Australia were set to face India, Japan and the People's Republic of China. After taking a break from hockey from 2015 to 2018, she was called up to play for Australia in the Pro League in early 2019, but did not expect to see herself in an Australian squad that could be heading to the 2020 Olympic Games. "I didn't actually know there was a tour happening so soon. I knew I was going over to Perth for a week to train, but I didn't know the test event was on the cards." (northerndailyleader.com.au, 15 Aug 2019)
