Her mother Lee Capes won a gold medal with the Australian hockey team at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. Her father Michael Nobbs played for the Australian hockey team at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Her uncle Mark Hager played hockey for Australia at the 1988 and 1996 Olympic Games. He won a bronze medal at the 1996 Games in Atlanta and has also coached the New Zealand women's hockey team. Her sister Jaimee competed for Australia in figure skating including at the Four Continents Championships in 2011 and 2012.
