Her cousin Nova Peris won a gold medal as part of the Australia hockey team at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, then an individual athletics gold medal in the 200m at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, before moving in to a political career in Australia. Her older sister Emily has also played hockey at national level. Her partner Jeremy Hayward has presented Australia in hockey and won a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, QLD, Australia.
