General
MOTIVATION
She was not selected to the national team in September 2019, and quickly set about dedicating herself to regain selection. "I realised that there was a lot to do since I was no longer in the national team. At the time I did not think about it. I was in a tunnel. I was only busy with myself, with what I had to do to regain my place in the team. There have been players who have dropped out of the national team and who have since invested more time in their studies. Not me. I just started training harder. I agreed with [national coach Alyson Annan] that hockey should be the number one priority. I immediately scheduled all my training for the entire period. That gave me overview and peace of mind. Only then did my studies and my social life come. But I know I can do it and what I do it for. I will do anything to be there in Tokyo." (hockey.nl, 27 Dec 2019)

CHARITY WORK
In 2019 she became an ambassador for Spieren voor Spieren, a charity that helps children in the Netherlands who live with rare muscular diseases. "I want to focus my attention on children who fight against muscle diseases. I am aiming to create awareness and raise money for these children." (spierenvoorspieren.nl, 29 Jun 2019)
