His older brother Sihle, a former South African hockey youth player, is a coach at Kearsney College where Nqobile used to attend. "I've played a lot of hockey under him but just him being my brother has been massive for me. I picked up a stick in the first place because of him. I would sit on the side of the field watching him playing. He was an international and provincial player so I've learned a lot just from seeing the environments he's been in since he was a player, and then again as a coach.
