Her mother Lynne Walraven [nee Tasker] represented Zimbabwe in swimming at the 1980 Olympic Games and 1982 Commonwealth Games, and played hockey for the Zimbabwe 'B' team. Her great-great-uncle Frank Rushton represented South Africa in athletics at the 1936 Olympic Games. Her father played hockey at regional level in South Africa, while her brothers Mark and Brett have played hockey for clubs in Europe and Australia respectively.
