General Interest

General
POSITIVE POSTPONEMENT
He said he benefited from the postponement of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo because it gave him more time to recover from his knee injury. "Selfishly, this crisis will have been rather favourable to me. I was able to rest my body and my knee, which needed it. My rehabilitation was not expected to last that long. Psychologically, because there were no matches, the pressure was less." (lequipe.fr, 23 Jun 2020)

FRANCE TO GERMANY TO HUNGARY
Born in France, he has lived in Germany for most of his life and spent most of his club career playing for German teams. He first moved to the country because his father Pascal was playing for a German club. He was invited to play for Germany's national team, but chose to represent France instead because his father had played for the French team. "Leaving France was not easy for me. From my father, my heart is French. But, with hindsight, knowing the German school, following my studies there, it was beneficial. Even though I have played for German clubs, my playing culture is not German. My palette is more French than anything else." After joining Hungarian club Veszprem KC in 2018/19, in 2021 he signed an extension to remain in Hungary until 2023. (lequipe.fr, 10 Mar 2021; lepoint.fr, 30 Jan 2015; handnews.fr, 12 Jan 2019)
