General Interest

General
MEMORABLE END TO 2020
She missed the start of the 2020 European Championship in Denmark in December after testing positive for the COVID-19 virus, but went on to travel to Denmark and was part of the Norwegian team that won gold at the tournament. She also announced her engagement to partner Lars Osthassel in late 2020. "I'm very grateful to Lars. Without him I would not handle it so well. He has a big credit, so we share this gold [medal]. It was amazing. I'm extremely happy, it was the best possible ending for 2020." (vg.no, 21 Dec 2020)

RIO 2016 DISAPPOINTMENT
She says the disappointment of being named as a reserve goalkeeper for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro has done nothing to deter her ambition of competing at the Olympic Games. "It was devastating news. The Olympic Games have been my biggest dream, and although I am lucky to be part of the Games as a reserve and experience the atmosphere, it is hard to know that you are still only standing outside. The Olympic Games are extremely important for me. It's my priority. For many years I have been fighting for a spot in the Olympic team." (vg.no, 29 Jun 2016; aftenposten.no, 02 Jun 2020)

TWINS
She and her identical twin Sanna have both represented Norway in handball. Despite Silje playing as a goalkeeper and Sanna playing as a winger, she says people still mix them up. The pair even switched position once during a match in Norway. "I don't think anyone knew. We had a blast. No one could understand why we were laughing." (tv2.no, 11 Dec 2013)

HERITAGE
Her father Stein in from Norway and her mother Louise in from Sweden. ?(aftenposten.no, 08 Dec 2019; jv.dk, 29 Feb 2020)
