INTERNATIONAL RETIREMENTS AND RETURNS
She announced her first retirement from international competition in 2015 after struggling with injuries and not having represented Norway since 2012. She returned to the national team ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. In May 2018 she announced her intention to retire from handball, but returned to the sport in December that year to join Danish club Team Esbjerg. She did, however, take a break from international competition between 2018 and May 2020. "I have been lucky to play for the Norwegian national team under fantastic coaches and with very good players. I'm proud of the medals and the championships, but I appreciate all the people I've met. The medals may be even more exciting as I get older, but it is all about people I have met who have given me what I value most. I enjoy playing handball again [speaking in 2020]. It went well with Esbjerg and earlier this year I talked to Thorir [Norway head coach]. If they think that I can help, then I am willing to contribute and hope that I can do it." (tv2.no, 15 Jun 2016; aftenposten.no, 11 May 2015; vg.no, 19 May 2020)
