FROM CROATIA TO NORWAY
Her parents are Croatian, having moved to Norway in the 1980s because her father signed a contract to coach a handball team there. Tomac and her sister were born in Norway, but she did not receive a Norwegian passport until October 2015. She was immediately selected for the Norwegian squad that went to the 2015 World Championships in Denmark. She had previously had the chance to represent Croatia at international level. "I played for the Croatia national team twice. But when a new head coach started to work with the team, he didn't invite me to any of the camps. I started to think that maybe it was not the team for me and my father suggested the Norwegian team. Now I am happy, but it wasn't an easy decision to make. Even if I am Norwegian, I still feel Croatian." (novilist.hr, 27 Dec 2015; vg.no, 08 Dec 2015)
