"We were just trying to play, we were having fun. I used to watch golf on TV all the time, especially when [US golfer] Tiger Woods was playing. I'd always wake up at three in the morning to see him finish before I went to school. I couldn't be a normal kid because I had golf, and I loved it. FATHER CADDY
His father Gary has served as his caddie. "Right after I turned pro [in 2015] my dad was kind of the one caddying me for a while. He has always been there to help me out. I'm quite a hard player to deal with, but he has learnt to deal with me and I have learnt to deal with him, and I'd say we get along pretty well. Well, our names are Green. If we travelled without our golf bags, it's weird." (pargolf.my, 18 Nov 2020; Asian Tour YouTube channel, 06 Dec 2018)

ACCIDENT
At age 14 he walked into a sliding glass door and badly cut his nose. He underwent plastic surgery and was hospitalised for three days. With a bandaged nose, he went on winning the 2008 US Kids Golf Teen World Championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina. "I didn't care about my nose. I was more concerned about going to the US for golf." (Asian Tour YouTube channel, 25 Jun 2013; thestar.com.my, 29 May 2013, 17 Jun 2012)
