In October 2015 she injured a muscle in her stomach. She returned to the golf course in November the same year. She had experienced the same injury in 2012, but played through the pain for six weeks on that occasion. (svenskgolf.se, 19 Nov 2015; svt.se, 30 Oct 2015)

She began playing golf at age 13 in Eskilstuna, Sweden. (IGF, 05 Jul 2016)
:
She did not like the sport after trying it for the first time at age 10, so moved on to swimming. She returned to golf three years later following encouragement from her family. "I didn't start playing golf until I was 13 years old. I was and still am incredibly interested in sports. The fact that I eventually chose golf was partly because it's a sport in which I can make most of the decisions myself, and partly because my father and brother were already playing. Also my grandfather would take my two brothers and me to the golf course to practise. We would spend time with him rather than going to daycare when our parents were at work. Those were some of my favourite memories, spending time with grandpa." (lpga.com, 02 Mar 2021; dn.se, 06 Jul 2015; hd.se, 11 Aug 2009)

OVERCOMING DOUBTS
After two wins on the LPGA Tour as a rookie in 2009, which included the LPGA Championship, she would go five years before she claimed another win on the LPGA Tour in 2014 and eight years without a major championship win. She says this period led her to consider quitting the sport, but that her brother Mattias inspired her to keep going. "Those were long, hard years. There were times I thought about quitting. I lost my motivation and inspiration for the game. My younger brother, Mattias, came out to caddie for me one summer [2015]. It changed my life. With him on my bag, I rediscovered the love I had for the game we had played together as children. That summer, I started to fight again. I felt inspired again. When times have been tough, my family has always brought me back. It takes a lot to be at the top of the women's game. I'm forever grateful to them for helping me rediscover my passion for golf. I realised that sometimes you have to fall out of love with the game to fall back in love with it. And Mattias played a huge part in helping me do that."
