TOKYO BOOST
She hopes that competing in her first Olympic Games, at the 2020 Games in Tokyo, will help her go on to boost her Ladies European Tour ranking. "It is a great honour to represent Belgium and it is a dream come true. After postponing the Games last year [2020], I was concerned that I would never get the chance again. TRANSITION TO PRO
After attending the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM, United States of America, on a golf scholarship between 2010 and 2014, she turned professional in 2015. She says she found the step up to the professional game tough at first, but credits the influence of swing coach Michel Vanmeerbeek with turning her fortunes around after she began working with Vanmeerbeek in 2017. "I studied psychology there [the University of New Mexico] and at the same time also worked on my golf with the American elite players in a beautiful setting. A fantastic experience. I started at the very bottom of the ladder [after turning professional]. It didn't come naturally. It was a new nomadic life. In the beginning I gave up. I am fortunate to be able to work with Michel Vanmeerbeek. He has made my golf simpler, more intuitive, more performant. Somehow he set me free and gave me confidence."
