HANDS LIKE A SURGEON
In the second round of the Abu Dhabi Championship in January 2021, he hit a shot that saw his ball roll into a divot left by a previous player and become 'wrapped up like a blanket' within the divot. Risking a penalty stroke, he carefully removed the divot without causing his ball to move, and went on to par the hole. The tournament director, Miguel Vidaor, called it "the most incredible situation I've seen in my entire career" and said Campillo "would be a good surgeon" after removing the divot without causing the ball to move. LONG WAIT FOR MAIDEN TITLE
In April 2019 he won his first European Tour win in his 229th appearance on the tour, when he claimed a two-shot victory at the Hassan II Golf Trophy in Rabat, Morocco. "It has taken me a while [to win a trophy], but it is all worth it now. They say that, if you knock on the door many times, one day it will open, and that's what happened to me."
