Her father Ko Sung-Tae was a boxer in the Republic of Korea, and he worked on physical training with her in the years after she took up golf at age 10. "He inspired me to be both physically and mentally fit for the game. He always told me, 'No matter what you do, stamina is the key to success'. So, we would jump rope together for long periods of time. I trained for golf like a fighter would train for a title bout.
