General Interest

General
BASED IN JAPAN
In 2019 he relocated his base from the United States of America to Japan. "The fact that the 2020 Olympic Games will be held in Japan is awesome for me and it's one of the reasons we moved over to play here, so that we get used to their courses and hopefully that has an advantage for the Olympic Games." (thestandard.co.zw, 12 Apr 2020)

COLLEGIATE EXPERIENCE
He says competing for Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University on the US collegiate circuit gave him the confidence that he could compete against elite-level competition. "I think back then I still didn't know where I fitted in globally. I got a better understanding of that once I got into college. What it did for me especially was where I stood amongst the best players in the world. I got to play against [US golfers] Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, I was playing side by side with these guys." (Asian Tour YouTube channel, 22 Sep 2019)

WIFE CADDY
His wife Kelsey began working as his caddie in 2016 when he joined the Asian Tour. "She very selflessly decided to come out and sacrifice a lot to chase my dreams. It's pretty motivating to be around her. The week after we got married [in 2018] I went to the European Qualifying School. She said a few words to me, and I said, 'This is my office. This is where I need to be focused on and doing my work'. But she was right, I was not being very nice. We've come through and things seem to be working. She can look at things from a different perspective."
