She began playing golf seriously at age six, taking lessons three or four times a week. (golfmonthly.com, 06 Mar 2021)
:
After her father Petr retired from playing tennis professionally he began to play golf as a hobby. Her older sister Jessica began to play too, and she followed her father and sister into the sport. "I ice skated, did gymnastics a bit. Jess is five years older, so when she got serious about golf, I started taking lessons. They [her parents] loved it because we were outdoors and being active. Anything where we were outdoors, they were very happy." (golfdigest.com, 23 Nov 2020)

Playing her first US Women's Open in 2013. "I think the US Open holds such a special place in our [she and sister Jessica's] hearts because it was our first LPGA Tour event and we both made the cut our first time. Any major is a major, but the one that holds a significant meaning to me is the US Open." (golfdigest.com, 23 Nov 2020)

General Interest

General
FAMILY SUPPORT
She and her siblings regularly keep in touch about their professional sporting careers. "We have a group chat. It's just about being there for each other. When we don't do well, we're there for each other. Jess and I always have a long text written up to Seb when he doesn't play that well." She also seeks advice from her parents, both of whom played tennis professionally. "They're constantly learning, too. Sport is changing. From the time they played, what athletes do now is completely different. My parents have always been very big on being humble." (golfdigest.com, 23 Nov 2020)

COACH RETHINK
At age 15 she began working with coach David Whelan but split with Whelan in September 2020 to be coached by Justin Sheehan. However, she reunited with Whelan in December the same year. "I just trust Dave so much, I wouldn't be where I am without him. He holds a special place in my heart and always will. I think the chemistry is obviously there and we work well together." (golfmonthly.com, 17 Apr 2021)

EARLY LIFE
Born in Bradenton, FL, United States of America, she spent her childhood living in the Czech Republic, moving back to her country of birth in 2008. (femalefirst.co.uk, 11 Feb 2021; golfdigest.com, 23 Nov 2020)
