She first became interested in golf after hearing crowds cheering at a nearby golf course while at a restaurant with her family. Her parents encouraged her to pursue the sport. "My parents and I started learning golf at the same time, when I was five years old. It was just a weekend activity that we could do as a family, but I really liked it and wanted to learn and play more. I liked the fact that golf was an individual sport. Each day was a different experience and that's what kept me interested, as I never got bored with the game as a child."
