His brother Kazuki has played football in Japan and Singapore. His father Kazumasa played baseball at Omiya Higashi High School in Japan, while his mother Miyuki Sasagawa was a sprinter and won a title at the All Japan Middle School Championships. His cousin Yuki Hashioka has represented Japan in long jump, and finished eighth at the 2019 World Championships in Doha, Qatar. His uncle Toshiyuki Hashioka represented Japan in pole vault, and competed at the 1993 World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany. His aunt Naomi Jojima competed in 100m hurdles and triple jump at national level in Japan.
