TRAINING FOR TOKYO
In June 2019 she decided to take a gap year from her studies at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, United States of America, to focus on qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. She was training at Bluegrass Fencers' Club in Lexington, Kentucky, but when the COVID-19 pandemic hit she decided to return to Singapore. "Of course I was a bit disappointed as the [Olympic Games] qualifiers were really close and I had been working real hard for it. I took the year off from school to try and qualify. With this extra time, we are going to take it as an opportunity to further better ourselves for the Games. It is going to be a historic Olympic Games, and we will go at it with all we got."
