RUSSIAN FEDERATION TO AZERBAIJAN
She represented the Russian Federation earlier in her career, including at the 2017 World Championships in Leipzig, Germany. In 2019 she switched nationality and began competing for Azerbaijan. "The initiative came from Azerbaijan. I asked a lot of questions, asked if I would face a two-year quarantine. But close contacts between the two federations helped - Ilgar Mamedov, head coach of the Russian national team, comes from Azerbaijan. He made the key decisions for the transition. Of course, it was interesting for me to try, because in Azerbaijan there is no need to be selected for the world and European championships, I get there automatically."
