His father Brian introduced him to the sport. "Most of my very early years were mustering and bull riding, which I did not like too much. Then I picked up Pony Club and that was an ideal fit for me and I went on from there. He served as chef d'equipe of the Australian eventing team at the 2018 World Equestrian Games [WEG] in Tryon, NC, United States of America, and the 2019 Oceania Championships in New Zealand.
