He became the first Latvian jumper to take part in the World Cup Finals when he competed at the 2013 edition in Gothenburg, Sweden. He was also the first Latvian competitor in any discipline at the World Equestrian Games [WEG], placing 72nd in the individual jumping competition at the 2014 WEG in Normandy, France.
